Welcome to Fall 2013 BSC Mini Courses!
Designed for students, by students, BSC Mini-Courses offer YOU the unique opportunity to learn something new from someone new in a highly interactive, low-stress environment. We reached out to the campus community to see what knowledge and talent students were willing to share, and we are very excited about our courses for this semester. Check out the list below and sign up for the courses that interest you!
Each class is a minimum of four, one hour sessions held right here in the BSC! Free of cost and in your free time.

T-Shirt Re-Design, BSC 210

Description: Fashion meets recycling in this course to help you learn how to alter your t-shirts in fun and exciting ways.
Learn About Your Body, BSC 205
Instructor: Jeremy Bongiovanni

Description: During this course students will participate in open discussions that are geared to teach them about a range of health topics from nutrition to different exercises one can do to stay healthy.
Intro to Italian, BSC 206
Instructor: Krista Liotti

Description: A fun and challenging course for those interested in learning the basics of Italian language and culture.
Magic 101, BSC 211
Instructor: Moses Pak

Description: Learn the basics of card magic and some neat tricks to blow your friends away! Note: Students must bring their own deck of cards. (Preferable Bicycle Deck)
Public Speaking, BSC 201
Instructor: Parth Parikh
Dates/Times: Fridays, 6:00PM-7:00PM
Description: In this course you will hear and watch classic speeches and examine the elements that make the presentation as eye-catching as it is. Emphasis will be given to delivery, persuasiveness, and preparation.
Intro to guitar, BSC 210
Instructor: Luis Delia
Dates/Times: Thursdays, 3:00PM – 4:00PM
Description: This course exists to serve as the first exposure for many students to playing guitar. Students will learn about basic musical concepts, as well as different approaches to the guitar (classical vs. rock). The course will give students a basis to develop further with study, be it with a teacher or by the student. Students must bring their own guitar.
Armenian Heritage, BSC 205
Instructor: Linda Chamesian

Description: This course is designed to provide students with an overview of Armenian Heritage through the study of language, music and dance, family, and history.
Transgender Studies and Popular Culture, BSC 201
Instructor: Megan Osika
Dates/Times: Thursdays, 7:00PM – 8:00PM
Description: The purpose of this class is to improve students’ media literacy surrounding trans* themes, characters, and related topics through representations of trans* characters in popular culture.
Intro to Hungarian, BSC 205
Instructor: Petra Kovacs
Dates/Times: Fridays, 4:00PM-5:00PM
Description: This course is a beginner’s course to Hungarian Language. It will help set the basics of the language and spark an interest in a new language and culture.
